EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
KAA has a number of clubs through which students organize various programmes and activities like musical and cultural shows, internal and external competitions, publication of newsletters and magazines. The chief objective is to instill leadership qualities, develop team spirit in students and contribute to their all-round development.
The Kaasthamandap A Levels Academy Model United Nations (KAA MUN) is an annual event whereby students typically role-play delegates to the United Nations and simulate UN committees. It is a good learning experience, especially in the field of diplomacy and international affairs. It instills confidence in public speaking and makes the participants more aware of contemporary world issues. We encourage students to participate in various inter-school MUNs, where our students have been successful in achieving various awards, as well as, getting invited to be the dais members.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award
With a vision to give a supportive, non-competitive youth development platform that deepens self-awareness, builds confidence and broadens skills and experience to further their growth as active, responsible citizens, KAA has also introduced The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award at KAA from the year 2017. Doing the Award is a personal challenge and not a competition against others; it pushes young people to their personal limits and recognises their achievements. It is open to both AS and A2 students. The participants work towards achieving various awards provided by Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award- Nepal.
KAA Inter A Level Basketball Competition
Every year we host the ‘Kaasthamandap Inter A Levels Basketball Competition,’ where different renowned A Level colleges participate. Besides this, KAA students participate in inter-college basketball and also futsal tournaments throughout the year.
‘Diversity Day’ at KAA is an annual event to commemorate the diverse culture and traditions in our country and in the world at large. This day is marked with a display of diverse costumes, food, music and dance.
Students are also involved in social-service oriented programmes. Currently, KAA students volunteer their service at Orchid Garden Nepal (orchidgardennepal.wordpress.com) where they assist the teachers in various capacities.
